In the afternoon, Lisa will demonstrate the concepts/looks presented upon two models of differing skin tones. Test shots will be taken and displayed onscreen by the studio to illustrate the material presented. Course Objectives: -- To encourage a better understanding of the valuable contributions that a makeup artist brings to any photo shoot; -- To facilitate communications between photographers, models, and makeup artists; -- To teach photographers and models some basic skills and techniques for occasions when you don't or can't have a makeup artist present on a shoot. Course Topics: -- The contribution of a makeup artist to a photo shoot/working with a makeup artist -- Basic makeup kit items -- Product choices: professional vs consumer makeup -- Basic makeup hygiene -- Basic makeup styling for foundations, lips, and eyes -- Building up a look -- Common coverups: tan lines, stretch marks, and tattoos -- Avoiding common pitfalls - some known "no-no's" that make an image look unprofessional instead of polished -- Basic corrective makeup - tips and tricks to make every model look his or her best on camera -- "Makeup triage" - What to do when you don't or can't have a makeup artist present for your shoot -- Special effects: Wet skin, and glow -- Basic hair styling -- Body paint and prosthetic safety - allergy considerations for paints, latex, adhesives and more Course Benefits: -- For models: This course will give you valuable information in skin preparation before and arriving at a shoot. Makeup do's and don't's for walking in the door, whether you do or don't have a makeup artist on the shoot. -- For photographers: This course will help you communicate with a makeup artist, so they can translate your ideas into makeup that looks great on camera. It will also teach you basic "makeup triage" for shoots where you don't or can't have a makeup artist on set.
