Whether you are a photographer, a model, or an aspiring makeup artist, this course will teach you basic techniques for creating a simple, clean, and flattering makeup look for your photo shoot. It will also help you avoid some of the most common pitfalls of bringing "daily wear" or "club wear" makeup into a photo shoot. Course Objectives: -- To encourage a better understanding of the valuable contributions that a makeup artist brings to any photo shoot; -- To facilitate communications between photographers, models, and makeup artists; -- To teach photographers and models some basic skills and techniques for occasions when you don't or can't have a makeup artist present on a shoot. Course Topics: -- The contribution of a makeup artist to a photo shoot; -- Basic makeup hygiene; -- Basic makeup styling for female and male models for foundations, lips, and eyes; -- Makeup for a wide range of skin tones and ethnicities; -- Basic corrective makeup - tips and tricks to make every model look his or her best on camera; -- Avoiding common pitfalls - some known "no-no's" that make an image look unprofessional instead of polished; -- "Makeup triage" - What to do when you don't or can't have a makeup artist present for your shoot. Course Benefits: -- For models: This course will give you valuable information in skin preparation before and arriving at a shoot. Makeup do's and don't's for walking in the door, whether you do or don't have a makeup artist on the shoot. -- For photographers: This course will help you communicate with a makeup artist, so they can translate your ideas into makeup that looks great on camera. It will also teach you basic "makeup triage" for shoots where you don't or can't have a makeup artist on set. -- For aspiring makeup artists: This course will emphasize the differences between "daily wear" and "club wear" makeup, versus makeup products and styles that show best on camera.
